Possible Causes

Blocked coffee outlet nozzle, Scale buildup in brew head, Overpressure valve stuck, Steam thermostat malfunction

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely. Steam under pressure can cause burns.

Steps:

  • Clean the coffee outlet: Remove the capsule holder or filter basket. Use a fine needle or cleaning tool to clear the small outlet holes in the brew head and spout.
  • Descale thoroughly: Run a full descaling cycle with Tefal-approved descaler. Overpressure often results from scale restricting flow in the thermoblock and brew head.
  • Inspect gaskets: Check the upper brew head gasket or O-ring for damage, flattening, or coffee buildup. Clean it with a damp cloth. Replace if cracked or hardened.
  • Check overpressure valve (advanced): Access the internal hydraulic circuit and locate the overpressure valve (small spring-loaded valve near the pump or boiler). Ensure it is not clogged with scale. Rinse or replace if necessary.
  • Reassemble and test: After cleaning and descaling, reassemble and run a test brew with water only. If E07 or leakage persists, the overpressure valve or thermostat may need replacement by a technician.
