Machine shows E08 and immediately stops; no pump or heater activity is heard.

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker. Work on electronic boards only if you are experienced; otherwise, contact a service center.

Steps:

• Check outlet and cord: Verify the wall outlet works with another appliance. Inspect the power cord and plug for damage.
• Power reset: Leave the machine unplugged for at least 15 minutes to discharge internal capacitors. Reconnect and test.
• Inspect for moisture: Remove the housing and check for signs of water ingress around the PCB. Dry any moisture with a soft cloth and allow the unit to air dry for several hours before retesting.
• Visual PCB inspection: Look for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or darkened areas on the control board. Check that all connectors are fully seated.
• Do not bypass safety components: If fuses or protective components on the board are blown, they indicate a fault. Replacing the entire board is usually safer than attempting component-level repair without proper tools.
• Reassemble: If no obvious issues are found and E08 persists, the control board is likely defective and should be replaced with the correct Tefal spare part.
