Possible Causes
Lid lock microswitch misaligned, Broken lid latch, Foreign object in capsule drawer, Lid position sensor wiring fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before manipulating the lid lock mechanism.
Steps:
- Remove capsule and debris: Open the capsule drawer fully and remove any capsule, pod, or paper filter. Check for foil pieces or coffee grounds obstructing the latch.
- Inspect latch and hooks: Examine the plastic hooks and latch on the lid and body. If any are bent or broken, the lid may not actuate the internal switch.
- Clean and lubricate lightly: Wipe the latch area with a damp cloth. If movement is stiff, apply a tiny amount of food-safe silicone spray to the hinge (avoid overspray).
- Check microswitch (advanced): Remove the top cover to access the lid lock microswitch. Ensure it is firmly mounted and that the actuator from the lid reaches it when closed.
- Test switch operation: With the unit unplugged, press the switch manually and listen for a click. A broken or silent switch should be replaced.
- Reassemble and test: Refit covers, plug in, and close the lid firmly. If E11 persists, the lid lock assembly or sensor wiring may need replacement.
