Possible Causes
Too fine coffee grind or too much coffee, Clogged drip outlet in filter holder, Faulty drip-stop valve in filter basket, Slow water flow due to scale causing uneven extraction
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- Reduce coffee amount: Use the recommended amount of coffee for your Tristar model and avoid very fine espresso grinds in drip machines.
- Clean filter holder: Remove the filter basket and holder. Clean the bottom outlet hole and any drip-stop mechanism thoroughly with warm soapy water and a small brush.
- Check drip-stop valve: Ensure the spring-loaded valve (if present) moves freely and is not stuck closed by dried coffee.
- Descale: Run a descaling cycle to normalize water flow and prevent surges that can cause overflow.
Note: Always use the correct size paper filter or the supplied permanent filter.
