Possible Causes

Clogged descaling inlet path, Faulty flow meter not registering flow, Incorrect descaling procedure, Firmware glitch in descale routine

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing any covers.

  • Verify procedure: Consult the Tristar user manual for the exact descale sequence (button combination, water/descaler ratio). Ensure you are following it precisely.
  • Clean reservoir and inlet: Rinse the tank thoroughly and ensure the outlet valve is clear. Refill with the correct descaling solution.
  • Run manual descale: If the automatic program fails, run several manual brew cycles with descaler (without coffee) to flush the system, then rinse with clean water.
  • Check flow meter (advanced): Access the flow meter and ensure its wiring is intact and the rotor inside can spin freely (you may feel it by gently blowing water through it when removed). Replace if jammed or electrically open.

Note: If E10 persists, the control PCB may not be recognizing the flow pulses and may require replacement.
