Possible Causes
Blocked steam nozzle, Scale in steam channel of thermoblock, Faulty steam selector valve, Failed steam thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and allow the unit to cool completely before working on the steam system.
- Clean nozzle: Remove the steam wand tip and soak it in hot water. Use a pin to clear any milk residue from the holes.
- Descale: Run a descaling cycle focusing on the steam function if your Tristar model supports it. Otherwise, run several cycles while activating the steam mode.
- Check selector valve (advanced): Inspect the steam selector knob and internal valve for proper movement. Replace if seized or leaking.
Note: If the boiler heats but no steam exits, a blockage or valve fault is likely.
