Drip-Stop Valve Failure
Brew basket drips coffee onto the warming plate even when the carafe is removed.

Possible Causes
Worn or hardened drip-stop seal, Broken drip-stop spring, Coffee residue preventing full closure, Misaligned basket or carafe lid
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the unit to cool before removing the brew basket.
- Clean thoroughly: Remove the brew basket and wash the drip-stop mechanism with warm, soapy water. Move the valve repeatedly while rinsing to clear residue.
- Inspect seal and spring: Check that the rubber seal is soft and intact and that the spring returns the valve to the closed position.
- Check carafe lid: Ensure the carafe lid is not damaged and properly engages the drip-stop when inserted.
- Test with water: Run a small water-only brew and remove the carafe mid-brew to see if dripping stops. A few drops are normal; a steady stream is not.
- If valve still leaks steadily: Replace the brew basket or drip-stop assembly.
