Possible Causes
Low water level in reservoir, Air lock in inlet tubing, Loose reservoir fit allowing air ingestion, Scale deposits causing uneven boiling
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep hands away from hot steam vents during operation.
- Fill reservoir: Ensure the reservoir is filled to at least the halfway mark and properly seated.
- Prime system: Run a water-only brew cycle with a full reservoir to purge air from the lines. If noise continues, stop and restart the cycle once or twice.
- Descale: Perform a descaling cycle to remove scale that can cause noisy boiling and sputtering.
- Check placement: Make sure the coffee maker is on a level, stable surface. Vibrations can amplify normal operating sounds.
- If noise becomes grinding or metallic: The internal pump may be failing and should be inspected by a technician.
