Possible Causes
Failed warming plate thermostat or sensor, Open warming plate heating element, Loose wiring to warming plate, Control board triac failure for warming plate circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and allow the warming plate to cool completely before touching it.
- Check carafe presence: Ensure the glass or thermal carafe is properly seated on the warming plate. Some models monitor plate temperature differently when the carafe is absent.
- Clean plate surface: Wipe the warming plate with a soft, damp cloth to remove residue that may affect temperature sensing. Dry thoroughly before use.
- Power cycle: Plug the unit back in and test the KEEP WARM function. Observe if E06 reappears immediately.
- If E06 persists and plate stays cold: The warming plate element or its thermostat is likely open and requires replacement.
- If E06 persists and plate overheats: The thermostat or sensor may be stuck closed, or the control triac may be shorted. Both conditions require professional service due to fire and burn risk.
