Possible Causes
New plastic parts heating for first time, Residual manufacturing oils in water path, Dust accumulation during storage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure good ventilation when performing initial cleaning cycles.
- Initial cleaning: Before first use (or after long storage), run 2–3 full reservoirs of water-only brew cycles and discard the water.
- Optional mild vinegar rinse: Brew one cycle with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water, then follow with 2–3 cycles of fresh water to rinse.
- Ventilate: Operate the coffee maker in a well-ventilated area until any odor dissipates.
- If strong chemical smell persists after multiple cycles: Discontinue use and contact Wolf Gourmet support, as internal components may be defective.
