Possible Causes
Severely scaled thermoblock, Blocked internal silicone hose, Blocked outlet nozzle or coffee spout, Failing vibration pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool. Hot internal parts can cause burns.
- Check external blockages: Remove the brew head insert, filter basket, and any removable spout parts. Rinse thoroughly under hot water and clear any coffee residue.
- Descale thoroughly: If the machine can still run, perform two full descaling cycles back-to-back using a Zwilling-compatible descaler. Follow the user manual for the descaling program.
- Inspect internal hoses: With the unit unplugged, remove the top cover. Trace the silicone hose from the pump to the thermoblock and from the thermoblock to the outlet. Look for kinks, pinches, or visible scale buildup at fittings.
- Check pump operation: During a test (with covers loosely in place for safety), listen for the vibration pump. A loud buzzing with no water movement suggests a blockage; a weak or intermittent sound suggests a failing pump.
- Clean or replace hoses: Remove any visibly blocked hoses and flush them with hot water and descaler. Replace hardened or opaque hoses that appear clogged.
- Replace pump if needed: If hoses and thermoblock are clear but the pump does not deliver water, replace the vibration pump with a compatible Zwilling-spec pump of the same pressure and wattage.
