Possible Causes

Misaligned or dirty water tank magnet/float, Faulty reed switch or Hall sensor in base, Damaged wiring from level sensor to control board, Incorrectly seated water tank

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the machine before inspecting internal sensors.

  • Check tank seating: Remove and firmly reinsert the water tank. Ensure it clicks or seats fully and that the bottom valve opens.
  • Clean tank and float: If your Zwilling tank uses a magnetic float, check that it moves freely. Clean scale or slime with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
  • Test with full tank: Fill the tank to the maximum mark and reinstall. Power on and see if E06 clears.
  • Inspect sensor area: With the unit unplugged, remove the base or side panel to locate the reed switch or Hall sensor under the tank area. Check for misalignment or physical damage.
  • Check magnet presence: Ensure the magnet in the tank or float is still present and not dislodged. If missing, the tank must be replaced.
  • Replace faulty sensor: If the reed switch or Hall sensor shows no change when a magnet is brought near (tested with a multimeter or continuity tester), replace the sensor assembly.
