Possible Causes
Faulty carafe presence microswitch, Dirty or damaged warming plate sensor, Misaligned carafe, Broken carafe magnet (if magnetic detection is used)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the coffee maker and allow the warming plate to cool before inspection.
- Check carafe position: Ensure the carafe is fully seated on the warming plate and correctly aligned with the drip-stop mechanism.
- Clean warming plate: Wipe the plate with a damp cloth to remove coffee residue that may interfere with sensors or mechanical switches.
- Inspect drip-stop lever: Make sure the drip-stop mechanism in the filter basket moves freely when the carafe is inserted and removed.
- Access sensor/switch: Remove the bottom cover to locate the carafe presence microswitch or sensor under the warming plate. Check for broken actuators or misalignment.
- Test switch: Press the switch manually and check for a distinct click. Use a multimeter to verify continuity when pressed.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace the microswitch, sensor, or carafe (if magnet-based detection and the magnet is missing) as needed.
