Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between UI board and main board, Moisture ingress into control panel, Failed touch sensor PCB, Firmware communication fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the machine before opening the control panel.
- Power cycle: Disconnect power for 10 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge, then reconnect and test. Sometimes transient faults clear.
- Dry the panel: If the panel was recently exposed to steam or cleaning fluids, leave the machine unplugged in a dry room for 24 hours to allow moisture to evaporate.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the top/front cover to access the user interface board. Check that the flat ribbon cable is fully inserted and locked at both ends.
- Check for corrosion: Look for green/white corrosion on connectors or the UI PCB. Light corrosion can sometimes be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
- Replace UI board: If the panel remains unresponsive or random, replace the user interface/touch panel PCB with a Zwilling-compatible part.
