Cordless vacuum displays E05 and shuts down after a short run time, often accompanied by a hot smell from the motor area.

Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum, remove the battery, and allow the unit to cool for at least 30 minutes before working on it.

• 1. Check for blockages: Follow the same blockage checks as for airflow faults: dust bin, cyclone, wand, and nozzle. Any restriction increases motor temperature.
• 2. Clean the post-motor/HEPA filter: Access the rear or top filter (often behind a grille). Remove and tap gently to remove dust. If washable per Beko instructions, rinse with lukewarm water and let dry completely for 24 hours.
• 3. Inspect cooling vents: Look around the motor housing and rear of the main body for air intake/exhaust vents. Use a soft brush or vacuum to remove lint and dust blocking these vents.
• 4. Avoid running on max continuously: Prolonged use on turbo mode in a warm environment can trigger E05. Use normal mode for general cleaning and reserve max for short bursts.
• 5. Internal inspection (advanced): If comfortable, open the main body to inspect the motor shroud and cooling fan for heavy dust build-up. Clean carefully with a soft brush; do not disturb wiring or balance weights on the fan.
• 6. Persistent overheating: If E05 recurs quickly even with clean filters and vents, the motor windings or bearings may be failing. Replacement of the main suction motor or motor housing assembly is recommended.
