Possible Causes
Faulty motor speed sensor (Hall sensor) in main motor assembly, Damaged motor control circuitry on main PCB, Loose motor connector, Broken wire in motor harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery and ensure the unit is fully powered down before opening the housing.
- 1. Basic reset: With the battery removed, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to discharge residual power. Reinsert the battery and test again.
- 2. Check for obstructions: Ensure there are no severe blockages causing the motor to stall, as this can confuse speed sensing. Clear the bin, filters, and wand.
- 3. Inspect motor connections: If comfortable, remove the dust bin and outer shell to access the main motor. Check that the motor connector is fully seated on the main PCB and that no wires are pinched or broken.
- 4. Listen for motor behaviour: When briefly powered, note if the motor surges, pulses, or fails to reach full speed. This often indicates a sensor or control fault rather than a simple blockage.
- 5. Component replacement: On most Beko cordless models, the motor and speed sensor are integrated into a single motor assembly. If E08 persists, the entire motor module or main PCB will need replacement. This is typically a technician-level repair.
