Possible Causes
Dust level sensor window blocked, Misaligned dust bin not fully latched, Faulty optical dust sensor on main PCB, Broken bin presence switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before cleaning sensors or bin contacts.
- 1. Remove and clean bin: Detach the dust bin completely. Wash it with mild soapy water if allowed by Beko, then dry thoroughly. Ensure the cyclone shroud is free of fine dust.
- 2. Clean sensor window: Look for a small clear plastic window or opening near the bin connection area. Wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust film.
- 3. Check bin latch: Refit the bin and ensure it clicks firmly into place. A partially latched bin can trigger E16.
- 4. Inspect bin switch: Some models use a small micro-switch to detect bin presence. Check that the actuator moves freely and is not obstructed by plastic flash or debris.
- 5. Sensor/PCB replacement: If E16 persists with a clean, correctly fitted bin, the dust sensor or associated circuitry on the main PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
