Possible Causes
Dust bin removed or not fully engaged, Filter cover not closed, Broken interlock tab on bin or filter housing, Faulty interlock switch on main body
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before inspecting interlocks.
- 1. Refit bin and filters: Remove and refit the dust bin, pre-motor filter, and any filter covers. Ensure each component clicks firmly into place.
- 2. Inspect interlock tabs: Look for small plastic tabs or protrusions on the bin and filter covers that engage switches on the body. If a tab is broken or worn, the switch may not be activated.
- 3. Check switches: Locate the small micro-switches on the body that detect bin and filter presence. Press them gently with a non-metallic tool to confirm they move and click.
- 4. Test with gentle pressure: With the battery inserted, press the bin or filter cover firmly toward the body while trying to start the vacuum. If it runs only when pressed, the latch or switch alignment is off.
- 5. Replace damaged parts: Replace any cracked bins, filter covers, or faulty interlock switches with genuine Beko parts to restore safe operation.
