Cordless vacuum will not charge; charger light does not come on or blinks rapidly

Safety first: Unplug the charger before inspecting. Do not attempt to repair the charger internally.

• Check outlet: Plug another device into the same outlet to confirm power is available.
• Inspect charger and cord: Look for cuts, kinks, or exposed wires. If damaged, replace the charger immediately.
• Clean contacts: On dock-style chargers, clean the metal contacts on both the dock and vacuum/battery with a dry cloth.
• Test with another battery or charger: If available, use a second Bissell charger or battery to isolate whether the fault is in the charger, battery, or vacuum.
• Replace faulty component: Replace the charger if it fails with multiple batteries. If only one battery will not charge, replace that battery. If no batteries charge on a known-good charger, the vacuum’s charge port or internal wiring may be faulty and require service.
