Possible Causes
Clogged main suction path, Blocked brush roll, Severely dirty pre-motor filter, Failing motor assembly drawing excessive current
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the vacuum OFF and remove the battery pack before clearing any blockages or touching the brush roll.
- Check for clogs: Detach the dirt bin, wand, and floor nozzle. Look through the wand and main air path for blockages (pet hair, debris, toys). Remove any obstructions with a long flexible brush or straightened coat hanger, taking care not to puncture the plastic.
- Inspect the brush roll: Remove the brush roll cover on the floor nozzle (usually via release tabs or a coin slot). Cut away hair and string from the brush roll and end caps. Ensure the brush spins freely by hand.
- Clean filters: Remove the pre-motor filter and foam filter (if equipped). Tap gently over a trash can, then rinse with cool water only if the manual allows. Let filters dry completely (at least 24 hours) before reinstalling. Never run the vacuum with wet filters.
- Test without nozzle: Reinstall the battery and run the vacuum with the wand and nozzle removed. If E2 does not appear, the issue is likely in the nozzle or wand. If E2 still appears quickly, the motor assembly may be failing and drawing too much current.
- Replace worn parts: If the motor sounds rough, smells burnt, or E2 persists after clearing all blockages and cleaning filters, the motor assembly or complete main body should be replaced by a qualified technician.
