Damaged main control PCB, Broken internal wiring harness, Faulty tilt or impact sensor, Cracked solder joints from impact
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery and do not attempt to operate a visibly damaged unit.
- Inspect housing: Check for cracks in the handheld body, loose components, or rattling sounds that indicate internal damage.
- Check external wiring: Inspect the wand and floor head connectors for bent pins or broken plastic.
- Reset attempt: With the battery removed, hold the power trigger for 10–15 seconds to discharge residual power, then reinstall the battery and test.
- Do not open sealed electronics: Internal PCB and sensor repairs require specialized tools. Opening the housing may void warranty and expose you to electrical hazards.
- Service center: If E9 persists, have the main control PCB and internal wiring inspected and replaced by an authorized Black+Decker service center.
