Worn or Jammed Brush Roll
Vacuum leaves lines of debris behind and does not pick up well from carpets
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Brush bristles worn down, Brush roll jammed with hair, Brush roll not rotating due to belt or motor issue, Incorrect floor height setting (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before working on the brush roll.
- Inspect brush roll: Remove the floor head and access the brush bar. Check bristle length; if they are very short or uneven, replace the brush roll.
- Clear hair and fibers: Cut away hair and threads from the brush and end caps.
- Check rotation: Spin the brush by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding.
- Verify brush motor operation: Reinstall the brush and, with the vacuum reassembled, briefly run the unit and look for brush rotation. If it does not spin, the brush motor or drive may need replacement.
- Adjust settings: If your model has a carpet/hard floor selector, ensure it is set correctly for the surface.
