Vacuum runs only on low power, cannot switch to turbo mode, E6 or power icon flashes when trying to change speed
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum and remove the battery pack before inspecting buttons or wiring.
- Step 1 – Fully charge battery: Ensure the battery is fully charged. Some Bomann models automatically block turbo mode when the battery is low to protect the cells.
- Step 2 – Clean control buttons: Wipe the power and mode buttons with a slightly damp cloth (vacuum OFF and battery removed). Make sure there is no sticky residue or dirt preventing proper button travel.
- Step 3 – Reset the unit: Remove the battery for 1–2 minutes, then reinstall it. This can reset the control PCB on some models.
- Step 4 – Test without accessories: Run the vacuum in handheld mode without the wand or floor head attached. Try switching modes. If turbo works in handheld mode but not with the floor head, the added load may be too high, indicating a partially blocked nozzle or failing motor.
- Step 5 – Inspect wiring (advanced): If you are comfortable, remove the handle cover (if accessible per manual) to visually inspect the small wiring harness from the mode button PCB to the main PCB for loose connectors. Do not pull on wires or short any contacts.
If E6 persists and the vacuum never enters high power even with a full battery and clear airflow, the main control PCB or mode switch PCB likely needs replacement by a service technician.
