E8
Bomann Battery Capacity Degradation

Vacuum runs for only a very short time (1–2 minutes) on a full charge, E8 or low-battery icon flashes

Possible Causes

Aged lithium-ion cells with reduced capacity, Repeated deep discharges damaging cells, Faulty cell balancing in battery BMS, Using non-original or incompatible battery pack

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery pack before inspection. Do not open or puncture the battery pack.

  • Step 1 – Confirm full charge: Charge the battery until the charger indicates full. Then immediately test the runtime on a low power setting.
  • Step 2 – Compare runtimes: If the vacuum stops within a few minutes and shows E8 or low-battery warning, note the approximate runtime. Repeat once more after a full recharge to confirm.
  • Step 3 – Check for overheating: If the battery becomes very hot during the short run, internal resistance is likely high and the pack is worn out.
  • Step 4 – Test with another battery (if available): Install a second compatible Bomann battery. If runtime returns to normal, the original pack is defective.
  • Step 5 – Replace battery pack: Purchase a genuine Bomann replacement battery pack specified for your cordless vacuum model. Install it according to the manual and recycle the old pack at an approved battery recycling center.

Do not continue using a battery that rapidly discharges or overheats, as this can pose a safety risk.
