Possible Causes

Dust container not fully seated, Broken or misaligned dust bin latch, Faulty bin-detection microswitch on main body, Debris obstructing the bin sensor lever

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery pack before inspecting the dust bin mechanism.

  • Step 1 – Remove and reinstall dust bin: Take off the dust container and reinstall it firmly until you hear a click. Ensure the latch is fully engaged.
  • Step 2 – Inspect latch and hooks: Check the plastic hooks and latch on the bin and main body for cracks or deformation. If broken, the bin may not press the internal switch.
  • Step 3 – Clean sensor area: Look for a small lever or tab on the main body that the bin presses when installed. Remove any dust or debris around it with a soft brush.
  • Step 4 – Test switch operation: With the battery removed, gently press the lever with a non-metallic tool and listen for a faint click from the microswitch. Do not force it.
  • Step 5 – Temporary test (advanced): If you can safely access the switch connector (per manual), a technician can test continuity with a multimeter to confirm switch failure.

If the bin is intact but the switch does not respond, the dust bin microswitch or its wiring must be replaced. This typically requires disassembling the main body and should be done by a professional.
