Possible Causes

Pre-motor filter completely blocked with fine dust, HEPA exhaust filter saturated, Cyclone shroud clogged with lint, Dust bin overfilled beyond max line

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum and remove the battery pack before removing filters or the dust bin.

  • Step 1 – Empty dust bin: Remove and empty the dust container. Tap gently to loosen compacted dust from the cyclone shroud.
  • Step 2 – Clean pre-motor filter: Take out the foam or fabric pre-motor filter. Tap it against the inside of a trash can to remove dust. If the manual allows, rinse it under lukewarm water until clear. Squeeze out excess water gently and let it air-dry for at least 24 hours.
  • Step 3 – Clean or replace HEPA filter: Remove the HEPA exhaust filter. Tap it gently to remove surface dust. If it is heavily discolored, damaged, or has been washed more times than recommended, replace it with a genuine Bomann HEPA filter.
  • Step 4 – Clean cyclone shroud: Use a soft brush to clean the perforated metal or plastic screen inside the dust bin. Ensure all holes are open.
  • Step 5 – Reassemble and test: Only reinstall filters when they are completely dry. Reassemble the vacuum, insert the battery, and test suction.

Running the vacuum with clogged filters can overheat the motor. Regularly clean or replace filters according to the Bomann maintenance schedule.
