Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum, remove the battery pack, and do not run the unit if you suspect internal damage.
- Step 1 – Isolate noise source: Run the vacuum briefly (battery installed) and listen to determine if the noise comes from the main body or floor nozzle. Then power off and remove the battery.
- Step 2 – Check floor nozzle: Remove the motorized head and spin the brush roll by hand. If you feel roughness or hear grinding, replace the brush roll assembly.
- Step 3 – Inspect for loose parts: Check all external screws on the nozzle and main body. Tighten gently if any are loose.
- Step 4 – Main motor noise: If the noise clearly comes from the main body and persists without the nozzle, the motor bearings or fan are likely damaged.
Do not continue using a vacuum with loud grinding noises from the motor. Arrange for professional replacement of the main motor assembly.
