Possible Causes
Open or shorted brush motor in floor nozzle, Broken wires in nozzle neck, Faulty brush motor driver on nozzle PCB, Burned connector pins between nozzle and tube
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery and detach the motorized nozzle.
- Check for jams first: Remove the brush roll and ensure it spins freely. Clear all hair and debris.
- Inspect connector: Examine the electrical connector on the nozzle and mating connector on the tube/handle for discoloration, melting, or bent pins.
- Wiggle test: Reattach the nozzle and, with the battery installed, gently move the neck while the vacuum is on low power (keep fingers away from moving parts). If the brush cuts in and out, internal wiring is likely broken.
- Nozzle replacement: Bosch typically supplies the motorized nozzle as a complete assembly. If F3 persists and the brush never spins, replace the entire nozzle.
- Do not bypass safety: Never attempt to hard-wire the brush motor directly to the battery; this bypasses overload protection and is unsafe.
