Possible Causes

Brush roll wrapped with hair and threads, Debris lodged in brush end caps, Worn brush bearings, Broken drive coupling between motor and brush

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery and detach the motorized nozzle.

  • Remove brush roll: Unlock the side cap or release latch and pull out the brush bar.
  • Clean thoroughly: Cut away hair and threads from the entire length of the brush and especially from the ends. Remove any debris from the bearing pockets.
  • Check bearings: Spin the brush roll by hand. If it feels stiff or gritty, replace the brush roll assembly.
  • Inspect drive coupling: Look inside the nozzle where the brush inserts. Ensure the drive socket is not stripped or broken.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the brush and test. If it still does not spin but the motor can be heard in the nozzle, the internal gearbox or coupling is damaged and the nozzle should be replaced.
