Bosch
Worn Brush Roll Bristles / Incorrect Height
Vacuum leaves lines of debris behind and does not pick up well from carpets
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Worn or flattened brush bristles, Brush roll installed incorrectly, Debris blocking brush from contacting floor, Wrong nozzle setting for carpet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery and detach the floor nozzle.
- Inspect bristles: Examine the brush roll. If bristles are very short, uneven, or matted, they will not agitate carpet effectively.
- Clean brush: Remove all hair and fibers. Wash the brush only if the manual allows, then dry completely.
- Check installation: Ensure the brush roll is seated correctly in both end bearings and that the side cap is locked.
- Nozzle settings: If your Bosch nozzle has a hard floor/carpet selector, set it to carpet so the brush can contact the fibers.
- Replace brush roll: If bristles are visibly worn or the core is damaged, replace the brush roll with a genuine Bosch part.
