Possible Causes
Dirty filters holding odours, Dust bin not cleaned regularly, Vacuum used to pick up damp material, Bacteria growth in filters
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before cleaning. Do not use harsh chemicals on filters unless specified by Bush.
- Empty and wash bin: Remove the dust bin and empty it. If the Bush manual allows, wash the bin with mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
- Clean or replace filters: Remove all filters. Wash washable filters under lukewarm water and allow to dry for at least 24 hours. Replace non-washable HEPA filters if they smell bad or are heavily soiled.
- Check for damp debris: Ensure no damp or mouldy material is stuck inside the cyclone or wand. Clean with a dry brush or cloth.
- Air out the vacuum: Leave the main body, bin, and filters separated in a dry, ventilated area for a day before reassembly.
