Possible Causes
Clogged pre-motor filter, Clogged HEPA filter, Damaged or missing bin seal, Cracked cyclone assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before cleaning filters or inspecting seals.
- Empty the bin: Release and empty the dust container. Tap it gently to remove compacted dust.
- Clean or replace filters: Remove pre-motor and HEPA filters. Clean or wash them according to the Bush manual. Replace filters that are torn, deformed, or permanently dirty.
- Inspect seals: Check the rubber gasket around the bin lid and where the bin connects to the main body. If the seal is cracked, flattened, or missing, unfiltered air will leak in and reduce suction. Replace the seal or bin assembly if necessary.
- Check for cracks: Inspect the cyclone and bin for hairline cracks. Cracks can cause loss of suction. Replace the cyclone/bin assembly if damaged.
- Test suction at the main inlet: Remove the wand and floorhead and test suction directly at the main body inlet. If suction is strong there but weak at the floorhead, the issue is in the wand or floorhead, not the main unit.
