Possible Causes
Aged lithium-ion cells in battery pack, Repeated deep discharges, Storage at high temperature, Internal cell imbalance
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not open the battery pack casing. Only handle the pack externally.
- Fully charge the battery: Place the battery on the Bush charger until the charger indicates a full charge (solid LED). This may take several hours.
- Measure runtime: Install the battery and run the vacuum continuously on low power until it stops. Time the runtime. Healthy Bush cordless batteries should typically provide at least 15–30 minutes on low, depending on model.
- Repeat once: Fully recharge and repeat the runtime test. If runtime remains very short (e.g., under 5–10 minutes), the battery capacity has likely degraded.
- Inspect for swelling or damage: Remove the battery and check for bulging, cracks, or leaks. If any are present, stop using the battery immediately and dispose of it at a proper recycling facility.
- Replace the battery: Purchase a genuine Bush replacement battery pack with the same voltage and connector. Install and test. If runtime is still very short with a new battery, the main motor may be drawing excessive current and should be inspected.
