Possible Causes
Worn or broken trigger microswitch, Broken trigger lever, Disconnected handle wiring, Failed handle PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before opening the handle or body.
- Confirm battery health: Test the battery in another compatible Bush cordless vacuum if available. If it powers the other unit, the issue is in the vacuum, not the battery.
- Inspect the trigger: Check that the trigger or power button moves freely and returns when released. If it is loose, jammed, or does not click, the internal mechanism may be broken.
- Open the handle (advanced): Remove screws from the handle and gently separate the housing. Locate the trigger microswitch and ensure the trigger physically presses it. If the plastic actuator is broken, the entire handle assembly may need replacement.
- Check wiring: Ensure the wires from the trigger switch to the main PCB are intact and firmly connected. Look for broken solder joints on the handle PCB.
- Replace components: Replace the trigger microswitch or handle PCB assembly with a Bush-compatible part if damage is found. Reassemble and test.
