Possible Causes
Clogged Camry HEPA exhaust filter, Pre-motor filter saturated with dust, Filter missing or not seated, Non-original filter restricting airflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the vacuum OFF and remove the battery if possible before accessing filters.
- Step 1 – Check filter installation: Open the filter compartment and verify that the pre‑motor and HEPA filters are present and oriented correctly. Align arrows or tabs as shown in the user manual.
- Step 2 – Clean the pre-motor filter: Remove the foam or fabric pre‑motor filter. Tap off dust. If washable, rinse under lukewarm water until clear. Squeeze gently (do not twist) and allow to air‑dry for 24 hours.
- Step 3 – Inspect the HEPA exhaust filter: If the HEPA filter is gray or heavily coated, replace it with a genuine Camry HEPA exhaust filter. Some models allow light vacuuming of the filter surface with another vacuum.
- Step 4 – Avoid non-original filters: Overly dense aftermarket filters can trigger E6 by restricting airflow. Use Camry‑specified filters only.
- Step 5 – Reset and test: Reinstall completely dry filters, close all covers securely, and power on. If your model has a filter reset button, press and hold it for 3–5 seconds.
- When to stop: If E6 persists with new, correctly installed filters, the airflow sensor in the Camry main control PCB may be faulty and needs professional diagnosis.
