Odor Contamination in Filters or Bin
Vacuum smells musty or emits unpleasant odor from exhaust
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Dirty filters with organic debris, Dust bin not cleaned regularly, Vacuuming damp materials, Mold growth in bin or filters
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum and remove the battery before cleaning. Wear a dust mask if sensitive.
- Step 1 – Empty and wash bin: Remove the Camry dust bin and wash it with mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
- Step 2 – Clean or replace filters: Wash washable filters as per manual and let them dry 24 hours. Replace non‑washable HEPA filters with new Camry HEPA exhaust filters if they smell bad.
- Step 3 – Avoid wet debris: Do not vacuum wet food, pet waste, or liquids. These cause odors and mold.
- Step 4 – Deodorize: After everything is dry, you can place a small amount of baking soda in the bin (not on filters) to help absorb odors.
