Safety first: Switch off the vacuum and remove the battery before working on the floor nozzle.

• 1. Remove the floor nozzle: Detach the motorized head from the wand or main body. Turn it upside down on a table.
• 2. Remove the brushroll: Release the locking tabs or end cap (often a coin-turn lock). Lift out the brushroll.
• 3. Clear obstructions: Cut away hair, threads, and fibers from the brush bristles and end caps using scissors. Do not cut the bristles themselves. Check the side channels for lodged debris.
• 4. Check brush bearings: Spin the brushroll by hand. It should rotate freely. If it feels rough or seized at one end, the bearing may be damaged and the brushroll should be replaced.
• 5. Inspect the drive system: On some Candy heads, a small belt or gear train connects the motor to the brush. Remove the cover (small screws) and check for a snapped belt or stripped gears. Replace the belt/gear set if worn.
• 6. Test the brush motor: With the brushroll removed and the head reconnected to the vacuum, briefly power on. If the brush motor does not spin or makes grinding noises, the motor is likely faulty and the entire motorized head or motor module should be replaced.

Reassembly: Refit the brushroll, ensuring it is seated correctly and the end caps are locked. Test on a low-pile surface before normal use.
