Possible Causes
Clogged filters restricting airflow, Blocked cooling vents around motor, Continuous use on turbo mode beyond duty cycle, Failing motor with increased friction
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the vacuum, remove the battery, and allow the unit to cool for at least 30 minutes before further inspection.
- 1. Let it cool: Place the vacuum in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight. Do not attempt to restart until it is completely cool to the touch.
- 2. Clean all filters: Remove the dust bin, cyclone assembly, and pre-motor filter. Empty the bin and tap the cyclone gently to remove fine dust. Wash washable filters with lukewarm water only and let them dry fully (24 hours) before refitting.
- 3. Check motor vents: Inspect the air intake and exhaust vents on the main body for lint or dust buildup. Use a soft brush or dry cloth to clean them. Do not use sharp tools.
- 4. Review usage pattern: Avoid running continuously on maximum power for long periods. Follow Candy's recommended duty cycle (often 10–15 minutes on turbo, then a cool-down period).
- 5. Test after cleaning: Once everything is dry and reassembled, run the vacuum on low power first, then switch to higher modes. If it overheats quickly again, the motor windings or bearings may be failing and the motor assembly should be replaced.
