Battery becomes very hot to the touch after short use in the vacuum

Safety: Stop use immediately and remove the battery. Allow it to cool in a well-ventilated area away from flammable materials.

• Clean filters and airflow path: Ensure all filters are clean and airflow is not restricted.
• Use appropriate battery: For heavy-duty use, use higher Ah DeWalt batteries designed for sustained current draw.
• Test with another battery: If multiple batteries overheat quickly, the motor may be drawing excessive current and should be inspected or replaced.
• Replace suspect battery: If only one battery overheats while others remain normal, retire and replace that pack.
