E5
DeWalt
Undervoltage / Battery Protection Trip
Vacuum stops abruptly under light load; E5 indicator or beeping pattern; restarts after battery removal

Possible Causes
Battery near end-of-charge, High internal resistance battery cells, Poor contact between battery and tool, Faulty battery BMS
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not attempt to open the battery pack; this is not user-serviceable.
- Charge battery fully: Place the battery on a DeWalt charger until it reaches full charge. Reinstall and test.
- Test with another battery: If the vacuum runs normally with a different pack, the original battery is weak or failing and should be replaced.
- Inspect contacts: Clean the battery and tool contacts with a dry cloth. Ensure the battery latches firmly with no wobble.
- Usage pattern: Avoid running the battery to complete shutdown repeatedly; recharge when performance drops to extend battery life.
- If multiple batteries show E5 quickly: The tool's undervoltage detection circuit on the control PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
