DeWalt
Short Runtime / Battery Capacity Loss
Vacuum runs only for a few seconds then stops; battery LEDs show low or flashing

Possible Causes
Aged Li-Ion cells in battery, High-resistance battery contacts, Using undersized Ah battery for heavy load, Battery not fully charged
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not open the battery pack; this is hazardous.
- Fully charge battery: Place on a compatible DeWalt charger until all charge LEDs indicate full.
- Test with another battery: Use a higher capacity DeWalt battery (e.g., 4.0Ah or 5.0Ah) and compare runtime.
- Clean contacts: Wipe battery and tool contacts with a dry cloth to ensure low resistance connection.
- Usage adjustment: For continuous heavy cleanup (drywall, concrete), rotate between two or more batteries to avoid deep discharge.
- Replace weak battery: If runtime remains very short on one pack but normal on others, replace the failing battery.
