Possible Causes

Completely discharged battery, Defective battery pack, Broken trigger switch, Open circuit in wiring harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Do not attempt to bypass safety switches or short battery terminals.

  • Verify battery: Try a known-good, fully charged DeWalt battery. If the tool powers on, replace the original battery.
  • Check battery seating: Ensure the battery clicks firmly into place and the release tabs are not stuck.
  • Inspect trigger: If there is no LED or response at all, the trigger switch or internal wiring may be open. Open the handle (if serviceable) and check for broken wires or a loose switch.
  • Continuity test: With a multimeter and battery removed, test continuity across the trigger switch when pressed. Replace the switch if it remains open.
  • If wiring and switch are good: The control PCB may have failed and should be replaced as a module.
