Possible Causes

High internal resistance battery, Loose battery contacts, Corroded battery terminals

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery before cleaning contacts.

  • Step 1 – Inspect contacts: Check the metal terminals on the battery and inside the battery compartment. Look for oxidation or discoloration.
  • Step 2 – Clean contacts: Wipe gently with a dry, lint-free cloth. For light corrosion, you may use a pencil eraser very gently, then wipe away residue.
  • Step 3 – Reseat battery: Reinstall the battery firmly until it clicks. Ensure there is no movement when you wiggle it.
  • Step 4 – Test modes: Try low mode first, then switch to turbo. If B2 persists and turbo will not engage, the battery may not be able to supply the required current.
  • Step 5 – Replace battery: Install a new genuine Dirt Devil battery pack.
