Dirt Devil
Battery Fuel Gauge Calibration Error
LED battery indicator does not change or is inaccurate (e.g., shows full then suddenly empty)
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Battery not fully cycled, Aging cells causing voltage sag, Faulty fuel gauge circuit in battery or main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Monitor the vacuum during testing to avoid overheating or deep discharge.
- Step 1 – Calibrate battery: Fully charge the vacuum, then run it on low power until it stops. Recharge fully without interruption. Repeat once more to help recalibrate the gauge.
- Step 2 – Observe behavior: If the indicator remains erratic after calibration, the battery may be degraded.
- Step 3 – Replace battery: Install a new Dirt Devil battery pack. If the issue persists even with a new pack, the main board's gauge circuit may be faulty.
