Possible Causes

Main floor brush tangled with hair or debris, Brushroll bearings seized, Brush motor overcurrent due to obstruction, Foreign object jammed in brush head

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn the Dreame cordless vacuum OFF and remove the battery pack (if removable) or ensure it is powered off and not on the charger.

Step-by-step:

  • Inspect the main floor head: Detach the motorized floor brush from the wand and check for hair, threads, or debris wrapped around the brushroll.
  • Remove the brushroll: Open the brush cover (usually a latch or coin-slot screw). Slide the brushroll out.
  • Clean the brushroll: Use scissors to carefully cut away hair and fibers. Do not cut the bristles. Wipe the brush and end caps.
  • Check end bearings: Spin the brushroll by hand. If it feels stiff or gritty, clean the end caps and remove any hair wrapped around the shafts. If still stiff, the brushroll assembly may need replacement.
  • Inspect the brush head airway: Look inside the floor head inlet and outlet for blockages (small toys, stones, etc.). Remove any obstructions.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the brushroll and cover, reattach the head, reinstall the battery, and test on a clean floor. Start on a low power mode first.

If E1 persists: The brush motor or internal PCB in the floor head may be damaged. Discontinue use and contact Dreame support or a qualified technician.
