Possible Causes
Foreign object in motor fan, Severely jammed brushroll causing overload, Damaged motor bearings, Faulty motor driver on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum and remove the battery pack. Do not attempt to run the unit if you smell burning.
- Inspect the brushroll: Remove the floor nozzle from the wand and open the brushroll cover. Take out the brushroll and clear all hair, threads, and debris from the ends and the brush chamber. Ensure the brushroll spins freely by hand.
- Check for fan obstruction: Remove the dust bin and cyclone. Look into the motor intake area with a flashlight. If you see debris lodged near the fan, carefully remove it with long-nose pliers or a flexible tool. Do not bend or damage the fan blades.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the brushroll and nozzle. Insert the battery and test the vacuum. If E3 persists or the motor makes grinding noises, stop immediately.
- Service required: A persistent E3 with noise or burning smell indicates internal motor damage or a failed motor driver on the main PCB. These components are not user-serviceable and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
