Possible Causes

Battery pack too hot or too cold, Faulty temperature sensor in battery, Blocked cooling vents on charging dock, Defective charger

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the charger from the wall before inspecting. Do not attempt to charge a visibly damaged or swollen battery.

  • Allow battery to reach room temperature: If the vacuum was used heavily, let it cool for at least 1 hour before charging. Avoid charging in very cold or very hot environments (ideal is 15–25°C / 59–77°F).
  • Inspect the battery and dock: Check the battery pack for damage. Inspect the charging contacts on the dock and battery for dust or oxidation; wipe gently with a dry cloth.
  • Check ventilation: Ensure the charging dock is not covered or placed in a confined space. Clear any dust from vents on the dock or vacuum body.
  • Test another outlet/charger: Plug the charger into a different wall outlet. If available, test with another compatible Electrolux charger to rule out a defective adapter.
  • Service or replacement: If E5 persists at normal room temperature with a known-good charger, the battery’s internal temperature sensor or BMS is likely faulty. Replace the battery pack or contact Electrolux service.
