Possible Causes
Hair and threads wrapped around brushroll, Debris jammed in end caps, Worn brushroll bearings, Failing brushroll motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum, remove the battery, and detach the floor nozzle from the wand.
- Remove the brushroll: Open the brushroll cover (usually via latches or a coin slot). Lift out the brushroll.
- Clear obstructions: Cut away hair and threads with scissors, taking care not to cut bristles. Clean both end caps and the brush chamber.
- Check rotation: Spin the brushroll by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If it feels stiff or rough, the bearings may be worn.
- Inspect the drive system: On some Electrolux models, a belt or direct-drive gear connects the motor to the brushroll. Check for broken belts or stripped gears.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the brushroll and cover, reinstall the battery, and test. If F1 persists and the brush still does not spin, the brushroll motor or nozzle PCB may need replacement.
