ETA Battery Gauge Calibration Error

Cordless vacuum’s battery indicator LEDs are inaccurate (e.g., shows full but shuts off quickly).

Possible Causes

BMS not calibrated after battery replacement, Frequent partial charges, Aging battery cells, Firmware misreading cell voltage

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Monitor the vacuum during calibration cycles to avoid overheating.

  • Perform calibration cycles: Fully charge the battery until the charger indicates 100%. Then run the vacuum in normal mode until it shuts off automatically. Repeat this full charge/discharge cycle 2–3 times.
  • Avoid constant top-ups: When possible, allow the battery to discharge to around 20–30% before recharging to maintain gauge accuracy.
  • Evaluate battery health: If runtime remains short despite calibration, the battery itself may be worn and require replacement.

When to call a technician: If the gauge remains erratic with a new battery, the main PCB may have a sensing fault and should be checked by ETA service.
