How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery before cleaning around the control panel.

  • Clean around buttons: Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean around the mode button. Do not allow liquid to enter the housing.
  • Press repeatedly: With the battery removed, press the mode button multiple times to free any minor sticking.
  • Reset the vacuum (if supported): Reinstall the battery and perform a reset by holding the power and mode buttons together for several seconds (refer to your ETA manual).

When to call a technician: If the mode button remains unresponsive, the control PCB or button membrane may need replacement by an ETA service center.
